The Air Moves the Voice, The Voice Moves the Air

Part of the Period Rooms exhibit, Steve Bates and collaborator Sophie Trudeau present a minimalist study of the resonant frequencies of Brother André’s Chapel, using the Basilica’s Rodgers organ and a computer. The composition of these frequencies—performed as notes and chords on the organ and sine waves on the computer—will provide source material for the sound installation that will be presented from June 15 to July 31 at the exhibit on the life of Brother André, located on Level 4.
